First of all, Bellue's Fine Cajun Cuisine has some of the most kind service we've ever experienced. It was like we had known everyone there our whole lives! They are so friendly! Right from the get go they offered us many samples. The whole restaurant vibe is inviting! The food is amazing! The owner came and sat down with us and had a little chat! Highly highly recommended!

Disappointed and embarrassed. I took my boyfriend to this establishment based on other reviews and it was a major letdown. I ordered a vegetable plate and my boyfriend ordered a shrimp plate. The pictures that others have posted were nowhere near the portion sizes that were given to us. At home, I usually measure my food and I can actually say that each item on my vegetable plate was at least 1/8 cups (30 ml) or less! Then when you order a drink, they give you a can. I'm not greedy, but with such a small amount given for what you pay, you cant help but feel robbed. I left wanting to cry.

I hate to give a 3 but.. I ordered the crawfish étouffée supreme as shown on the wall. It was truly beautiful. Trust me. It came with 2 sides for $12.95. Also came with several fried shrimp on top. What I got looked nothing like the pic. It was served over cornbread dressing but was very bland looking and with very little crawfish. My two veggies( corn and lima beans were good) but the entree disappointed me. Where was all of the crawfish étouffée like in the picture with the beautiful color and large crawfish tails? Mine was somewhat mushy. I would have asked the cashier but they were very busy. After I finished there was a lull at the counter. I asked the cashier why the discrepancy in the difference between the pic and what is served? She admitted that the pic was embellished for advertising purposes. Also she said that I probably needed more crawfish étouffée sauce. I told her it was too late because I had already finished. They may have good food but I have to rate my meal and I am being generous with a 3.

Stopped by this place on our way home to Houston from New Orleans. Found on Yelp with five stars so we had to stop. While we waited for our to go orders, Mr. Bellue offered some samples and was super nice! The food was amazing, omg! fried boudins was DELISH! We ordered the cajun tamales, definitely different and not your typical tamales but a must try, the sauce was sooo good and full of flavors! Also, the mustard greens was best I've ever had. Mr.Bellue took my 8yr old son to back of the shop and let him blow the horn, he was so excited he didn't want to leave. The food and people there definitely made this place a five star! Will definitely stop by on our trip back to Louisiana.

Returning to Dallas from New Orleans we found this place on Yelp. After 4 days in NOLA with all of it's amazing food, this little place is what my kids still talk about 1 week later. The food was the best we had on the entire trip! As we walked through the door we were met by the owner ( maybe the nicest man in LA) with a basket of the best fried Boudin I've ever had, crunchy on the outside creamy and so flavorful on the inside. We ordered and before our meals arrived we got samples of the best fried fish I've ever had- PERIOD! Then samples of shrimp, crawfish étouffée over dressing followed that. With each sample was a story, I have never met someone so proud (rightfully so) and passionate about his food. So now we are full from the samples: our food arrived- so amazing!!!! Shrimp Po Boy, shrimp étouffée over dressing, tur-duc-in, white beans were amazing---- after eating to excess... The owner took us for a tour of his kitchen - no kidding he made many of the devices in his shop out back including a pressure cooker that cooks 800 pounds of beans at a time! After that he took us outside to see some of the things he made (giant- think large welding tanks as the chimes) wind chimes- the highway sign that is actually a large compressor tank with antique air horns and whistles on top that the kids got to play- it was like visiting grandpa's - we showed him some video of my kids competition baton and talked about my girls being on Team USA that competes internationally and he was as proud of them like they were his own grandkids. When we left, my girls (12 and 18) ran up to give him a hug as we left. It was the best!

Very glad to have discovered this "hole in the wall"--thanks to Yelp! Don't let the view from the outside or the location scare you. While not the place for date night, you'll enjoy some mighty fine Cajun food--with bonus samples.

The real deal. The owner found out we were from out of town and he offered us samples of several great dishes. He's proud of his food for a good reason.

Southern Hospitality at its best. Defiantly a hole in the wall. Food was amazing and was given samples of boudin, crawfish étouffée supreme, rabbit sausage. Will defiantly be back as well as order online

Okay. So I rolled into Baton Rouge from Atlanta via United Airlines. Late afternoon. I was hungry. Not much to choose from around the airport. So I ran into this hole in the wall joint that I saw on Yelp. Oh man!. Not a dinner joint by any means. They close at 5:00pm. The food was terrific. I had the crawfish Etouffee supreme. Mustard Greens and Mac n Cheese. Way to much food. I could have shared this if my wife was with me. When you drive up. Very non-descript place. Don't let it fool you. Go in. Order some great food. They put it in a styro clam box. Who cares. The food is great. I wish I had this place down the street from me in Atlanta. They had all kinds of great stuff in the cooler case. Wish I wasn't flying back to Atlanta. I would haul some stuff home.

Amazing! Fish PoBoy, phenomenal. Shrimp PoBoy, amazing. Gumbo, fantastic. The people are extremely nice and gave me a few samples of their other signature dishes. All the food was great and i would stop here again and again every time i roll through town.

When you picture a hole in the wall place Bellues is it. Located across the street from what I think is an Exxon refinery on Scenic Hwy. Not sure who named it scenic highway but the only thing scenic I saw was the food inside Bellues. I went in and my first impression was everybody in there were locals. A couple of police cars outside is always a good indication you've found the "right" place. They lady taking the orders was very helpful and gave me some recommendations on what to have. I chose the Shrimp Étouffée with mustard greens and red beans and rice. I'll start with the good. The mustard greens were possibly the best I've ever eaten. They are a must even if you have had greens in the past and you think you didn't like them. Red Beans and Rice had a nice smokey flavor and were very good. Now onto the Shrimp étouffée, I wish I would've loved it but I didn't. The shrimp were flavorless popcorn shrimp. The étouffée was also on the bland side. I will definitely go back to try the Po Boys which looked great. Bellues also has an excellent selection of fresh and frozen items like Boudin Sausage, deer sausage and Chicken Glacé to go. It's a must visit if based on nothing more than experiencing a great local joint with friendly people that obviously want you to experience authentic Cajun fare.

Yelp needs a few more stars for this place. There is not a lot of places to sit inside but the food is so worth it. I came with a regular and he ordered the "Kevin's Special" and it came with a little bit of everything but its not listed on the menu. My buddy says this special is different every time. Today it had a mix of fried seafood served over their cornbread dressing with crawfish étouffée, a rice dish with brown beans in a sauce, rice and broccoli casserole and corn. The only thing on that plate that I would say was ordinary was the corn, but it was every bit as good as the corn that Grandma made. We also had an order of hush puppies. They were fried to a dark brown, nice and crunchy on the outside, soft and moist on the inside. They had just a hint of sweetness as well a touch of spice. Very well done. The last treat was the habenaro chicken fingers. Once they cooled done the flavor was to die tie for. Don't let the habenaro scare you off. This was an exceptional chicken finger. The owner, Wirt, was kind enough to give us some samples of a rice dish he just finished and his gumbo. I have had gumbo at a lot of places but Wirt has it right. All the flavors well balanced. Most gumbo s have too much spice that sticks in you throat, not Wirt's. Can't say enough good things about Bellue's. ready to go back. It's a good thing I don't live or work close by because I would live there!!

I found this place with great reviews on yelp, so my family of 4 decided to stop in. The owner was so great and gave us many samples while we waited for our food. He let our girls blow the train whistle and ring the bells he makes outside. Hospitality was great and the food was AMAZING! I had the shrimp po boy and my husband had the crawfish étouffée supreme- must have!!! We even filled up with frozen to go! Will for sure go back on my way back to TX!

In short, this place blew our minds. Everything was perfect. My fiance and I were headed back to Austin from New Orleans and figured we'd stop in Baton Rouge for some local flavor. I checked Yelp for Baton Rouge's finest Cajun food, and after reading the reviews, we had to check it out. I was pleased to see that Bellue's was only a few minutes out of our way, and OHMYGOD was it ever worth it! Every person that works here was so wonderful, and the food was AMAZING! I grew up with my mother making traditional Cajun dishes, but this was by far the best Cajun fare I've ever had (sorry, Mom). We both had etoufee over corn bread dressing and rice, fried shrimp, catfish, macaroni and cheese, white beans, mustard greens... and everything was phenomenal. There was not one thing I would have changed. So. Incredibly. Good. When we learned they had frozen food available to take home, we stocked up! Looking forward to serving it to my family on Memorial Day, and can't wait to run out so we can order more and have it shipped to us. Thank you, Mr. Bellue and family! See you soon!

Bellue's is what you need. We had one evening to find some authentic off-the-beaten-path cajun food while we were on tour in Baton Rouge and we stumbled upon Bellue's on yelp. It only had 4 reviews but all were overwhelmingly positive. We gave it a try and were SO PLEASED. it looks like nothing from the outside and is right next to an overpass and some factories and warehouses but don't let that fool you. Wirt, the owner is very passionate about the food he makes and he serves it with pride, handing out generous samples to everyone while they wait in line. Everything we tasted was amazing! He talked with us about how he got his start. Had something warm and welcoming to say to everyone who stepped through the door. Even after we sat down with our food (gumbo, red beans, yams, and cornbread stuffing- all amazing) he brought us a little plate with his étouffée and two spoons just because he didn't want us to leave with out tasting it. Seriously a gem of a place. I think the main reason it has so few reviews is because the folks frequenting it are just local hard working people picking up their dinner before and after work. Not much fancy-smart-phone-flashing or review-leaving going on in there. Just good cooking and eating!

  • Kelly M.

The Crawfish Etouffee Supreme is phenomenal! I HAVE to get it EVERY time I return to LA! Sad they are no longer in town but still worth the drive. They also have a great selection of boudin & frozen foods- so stock up. I'm pretty sure they also clean & cook game to your specifications. If you're into that kinda thing!

This is one of those far out places that you have to know a local to find. Its one of those restaurants you would see on a show like Dinners Drive Inns and Dives. Tucked away in an industrial part of town next to a machine show sits a tiny little unassuming Cajun restaurant. It doesn't look like much from the outside and some would pass it up thinking it was just some crappy dive but they would miss out on the most amazing food experience. When you enter Bellue's you notice right away there is no place to sit. I went during prime lunch hours and the place was packed with workers from the refinery across the street. I looked over a menu but ordered the first thing I saw. Turducken with yams, greens, and crawfish cornbread dressing. While I waited for my food I spend some time looking around. They package and sell alot of stuff there. Pretty much anything you can get on the menu they have frozen and available for sale much like a lot of places in Lafayette. While I was waiting I was treated to some homemade fried boudin. Spicy and delicious! My food was ready and I dove in. It was perfect. The yams were sweet, the greens were the best I have ever had, and that dressing! The turducken looked like they sliced it off a log, like they assembled it in a tube, baked it, and sliced it. I have never seen it prepared this way, it was very good. They do a turducken poboy I will have to try. WHen I left I picked up a package of house made beef jerky. Later when I got into that I found it to be like beef flavored freshen up gum. It was amazing. Smokey, chewy, beefalicious. One of my friends who grew up here in Louisiana said while eating there "I'm mad at my mom". Bellue's is down home cooking, apparently better than mom used to make. I cant wait to go back.

About Taco Bell

Taco Bell is a haven for Mexican delicacies such as tacos, quesadillas, burritos, nachos, and other specialty items. Owned by Yum! Brands, Inc. Taco Bell is one of the fastest growing American chains of fast food restaurants. The restaurant operates from 7,072 different locations which are mostly run by independent franchisees and licensees.

The background story of Taco Bell is interesting and inspiring for budding entrepreneurs. The fast-food brand is the brainchild of Glen Bell, who started his first food venture as a hot dog seller in San Bernardino, California. The year was 1948. After witnessing long queues outside a Mexican restaurant called Mitla Café across the street, Bell saw the opportunity and demand for hard-shelled Tacos. He reverse-engineered the recipe and later started selling Tacos and called the venture Taco-Tia.

Later, the name changed from Taco-Tia to El Taco. Eventually, Glen Bell sold the company to his partner and opened the first Taco Bell in Downey in 1962. By 1964, the restaurant also got its first franchise in Torrance. The 100th Taco Bell restaurant was opened by 1965. PepsiCo acquired Taco Bell from Glen Bell in 1978 and the restaurant brand is currently a subsidiary of Yum! Brands which looks after the restaurant business of PepsiCo.
